Shadow Minister for Indigenous Relations & Reconciliation

Michael Lee was elected as the MLA for Vancouver-Langara in 2017 and 2020. He currently serves as Shadow Minister for Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation. 

Lee has previously served as Shadow Minister for Transportation, Infrastructure, and TransLink, and as Shadow Minister for the Attorney General. 

Prior to his election, Lee was a business lawyer and partner with Lawson Lundell LLP. Before obtaining his law degree at the University of Victoria, he worked as a Special Assistant to the Right Honourable Kim Campbell in Vancouver and Ottawa. He also holds a BSc in Biology, a BA (Hons) in Political Science and an MA degree in Political Science with a focus on environmental regulations. 

Lee has served as the past Chair of the Board of Directors of Arts Umbrella and Alumni UBC. He has also served as a past Vice-Chair and Board member of Science World British Columbia, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and Leadership Vancouver. Lee is a past Board member of the YMCA of Greater Vancouver Foundation, the Justice Education Society of BC, Sustainable Cities International and the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association. 

A son of Hong Kong immigrants, Lee was born and raised in Vancouver. He and his wife Christina have three children.
